Established in 1975, The Arlington-Belmont Chamber Chorus, also directed by Barry Singer, brings together about twenty singers auditioned from within the Chorale and is dedicated to the performance of choral works on a smaller scale or of a more challenging level than those performed by the Chorale. Our accompanist is Brian Packham.
The Chamber Chorus performs three times annually; in December with a program of holiday music, in March (usually with the premiere of a new commissioned work), and in May with "Music for a Spring Evening" which features an encore performance of our commissioned work and a wide variety of other works. In recent years we have been extraordinarily fortunate to have had exciting, thoughtful and musically beautiful pieces written for us such as
a first public performance of a work by our conductor, Barry Singer, "For I Know Well the Spring That Flows" (2006), "Choric Sketches" by Pasquale Tassone (2007), "Executive Orders" by Paul Veloso (2008) and this season's new work, as yet untitled, by Christopher Haynes.
