Established in 1975, The Arlington-Belmont Chamber Chorus, also directed by Barry Singer, brings together about twenty singers auditioned from within the Chorale and is dedicated to the performance of choral works on a smaller scale or of a more challenging level than those performed by the Chorale. Our accompanist is Brian Packham.
The Chamber Chorus performs three times annually; in December with a program of holiday music, in March (usually with the premiere of a new commissioned work), and in May with "Music for a Spring Evening" which features an encore performance of our commissioned work and a wide variety of other works. In recent years we have been extraordinarily fortunate to have had exciting, thoughtful and musically beautiful pieces written for us such as "Planetarium" (2005) by Jeffrey Brody, a first public performance of a work by our conductor, Barry Singer, "For I Know Well the Spring That Flows" (2006), and "Choric Sketches" by Pasquale Tassone (2007).
