Christopher Charig
Chorale Assistant Conductor

          An Arlington Heights resident since 2005, Christopher Charig began working with the Arlington-Belmont Chorale this past year and was honored to assume the post of Assistant Conductor. During the day, he teaches choir, music theory, and music fundamentals at the Boston Latin School to grades 7-12. He has worked for a total of 8 years in arts education ever since getting his B.M. in Music Education from Boston University in 2000. Having studied choral conducting, composition, and dramaturgy he has put his skills to use directing music for the Wakefield Repertory Theatre, the SMARTS collaborative in Foxboro, MA, Theatre To Go of Stoneham, MA, and The Uncommon Theatre Co., in Mansfield, MA. In his spare time he plays piano for local churches, and teaches vocal pedagogy to his private students in the area. He and his wife Moya, a soprano in the ABC, just had their first daughter, Madeleine Carol Charig, this past winter.
