Since 1965 the Philharmonic Society of Arlington has sponsored an annual competition for young musicians, both instrumental and vocal. Our purposes are to identify, encourage and provide exposure to promising talents, to provide them with audition experience, and to provide the winner with performance experience with our orchestra and/or chorale.
Three overall prizes are awarded and funded through the kind generosity of the estate of Peter Tannenwald, a long-time member of the Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra and one of the Society's greatest proponents of the Young Artist Competition.
